Pescia Romana is situated in a very interesting territory thanks to cultural reasons.
Vulci,
, the richest Etruscan testimonies of the zone, in fact, is few Km far from Pescia. But Vulci isn't an Etruscan symbol, only. It presents a lot of evidences of Roman and Medieval people. Famous bridge called "Ponte dell'Abbadia" has got an Etruscan-Roman origin, and Castle dates back to Middle Ages me.
Now Castle is a museum where numerous finds, recovered in the zone, are preserved: objects in bronze and jewels that belongs to the various moments of Vulci life, from the most ancient villanoviana age to the latest roman age.
Tuscania and
Tarquinia are two others Etruscan cities.
In Tarquinia a lot of testimonies of the Etruscan civilization are found in the Etruscan National Museum, in the Etruscan Necropolis and on the hill of the acropolis. Etruscan National Museum is in the evocative Palazzo Vitelleschi (XV century). From 1924 it receives communal collections and private collection of Bruschi-Falgari family.
Tuscania, in its turn, is known a centre of historical importance, thanks to its medieval origins and Etruscan presence.
Etruscan territory extends from Pescia Romana to Orbetello, too. The most important testimonie of this civilization is
Cosa city, near Ansedonia. Here, between 1947 and 1972, the American Archaeological Academy made some excavations of important archaeological interest.
Another place of remarkable artistic and naturalistic interest is
Tarots Garden. Here sculptures covered of mirror, glass and ceramic mosaics represents the 22 Tarots papers. This Garden was planed by a French sculptor: Niki de Saint Phalle, inspired by the wonderful Guell park of the architect Gaudì in Barcelona.
